Each Sabbath, we bless our children.
It is, undoubtedly, one of the best parts of the entire day.
My five-year-old looks at me, expectantly, waiting for me to bathe her in love.
To be seen by your mother!
To be known by your father!
A priceless gift.
We celebrate the little thing she did when she didn’t think we were watching.
We name the endurance she showed when hiking up the big hill, hot and tired already, but still moving forward.
We find joy as she learns to spell, especially when she slowly stretches out the sounds in the word “waterpark” (wodrprc) by herself.
Way to go, little girl, we are so proud of you! We are so pleased to be your parents. You bring us so much joy, little one.
The joy we find in her sinks deep into her soul.
It takes root there.
It is shaping her soul to receive the love of the Father.
